Bullet Pen using Parker refill
I keep getting asked for bullet pens using the Parker refill rather than the slimline and so far have been avoiding making one.
Finally bit the bullet () and made one today.
Used a .30-06 cartridge as I felt that the balance between top and bottom would be better than using the .308 (due to the length of the Parker refill+transmission).
Here is todays' effort, using a a Navy Camo top with integrated black centre band.

looks great mate
i have been waiting to get a metal lathe before stepping into true bullet pens, however i might have to bite the bullet (yes intended) and give it a shot (did it again) on the wood lathe
all the best

Looks great Fred.
I have modified the Cigar Clip Bushing so I can use 7mm rifle clips with either the round top or flat top 7mm finials.

Thats a very nice looking pen Fred.
I have not used the Cigar hardware for mine, always used the Sierra Transmission, but after looking at how that one turned out, might have to look closely at the Cigar kit when/if I ever get around to doing another batch of bullet pens.Brad.

I think you will find there are already a few floating around.
These can be done on a wood lathe, but the metal lathe makes things easier to control and is my weapon of choice.
Thanks Les. I am looking at making a few with the Euro clip, both rifle and standard. I must say that I was surprised how good the Cigar clip and finial looked on this pen. I get quite a bit of feedback from customers that they like the pen but not the rifle clip, so I finish up swapping it out for a standard clip.
Thanks Brad, I haven't as yet used the Sierra transmission but have that on the "todo" list. What I like about using the Cigar kit is that you can use nearly the whole kit including the clip and finial.
I didn't use the Cigar bottom tube and modified the coupler to the same diameter as the transmission.

Really like that a lot, the proportions look spot on, that camo blank suits the cigar trim and clip perfectly. Very nice pen

Fred who am i to tell you how to make bullet pens so take this with a grain of salt BUT have you thought of using the bullet clips that PSI sell because i think they look way better than the other ones that are around and my customers have loved them and prefer them than the others.
cheers ian
PS i forgot to say i love the pen fred as usual they look great.

Thanks Ian. Yes I do like those PSI rifle clips as well BUT they are only available locally in Chrome. Not a great fan of chrome trim on the bullet pens. If I could get them in Gold and Copper (particularly like Copper on bullet pens) I would use them.
Funnily enough a lot of my customers are not that keen on the rifle clips and quite often I have to swap out the rifle clip for a standard clip.
Might use some Gold European rifle clips on these pens.
Still settling on some design issues and what combinations I will make, but this pen sold the same day I made it.
