    Default Calligraphy Pens

    Hi all
As you know I've been working on Calligraphy and oblique calligraphy pens.. dip and non dip.

Ive received some special tools for making Flanges and in the process educated myself ..

I found a few US makers who have been very generous in showing people how to make them ... not obvious ..... eg Utube, blogs, Web sites.

When I went to the usual places eg art shops, hobby shops etc .. I found little information or even variety available ..... unless high end ...

Im wondering whether Calligraphy in Australia is not very popular ...

Your thoughts ? Am I barking up the wrong tree ?

With 92 views and zero responses, I would say you are barking up the wrong tree. Lol

One of our members is well into calligraphy, I will speak with him at the
club tomorrow and see if he has any clues that may assist you.

Ta I'll have a look. Obliques are very interesting ... I've also found there are different flanges for obliques. These is one called a Bullock Flange ....

Two of the last bastions of calligraphy in my part of the world are:

    1. Museum display information & carding.
    2. Names to be added to diplomas and other graduation certificates.

There appears to be a resurgence of interest as it does not appear to be done by machine which reveals no craftsmanship whatsoever.

I did a lot in my younger days and there are markets for Calligraphic specialties. Historical recreation groups seem to be where the action is and there was a Society of Calligraphers who used to do workshops. I suspect a lot of the scrapbooking folk would be interested if they knew more about calligraphy. Whether that translates into a market for you is another matter.
