Carbon Fiber Ultra Cigar
Got back in the shop to do a few pens. Here is an ultra cigar with a black/grey carbon fiber blank which I casted. This material actually started out as black and white but the resin had an effect on the color. I am doing more different material ones and need to find a product to help control the color. I think I have some different products so I need to do abit of testing. I actully don't mind the way it came out though.
Thanks for looking and as always any comments or questions are always welcomed.

Spectacular! That cast is so crystal clear and the detail in the carbon fibre is amazing.
Well done

A real eye opener that one As much as I love the wood pens ,seems the general public still go mostly for "plastic " and unusual materials . But that's what keeps us trying to please cheers ~John

That looks awesome... I really like the grey/black, no doubt the black/white would look pretty cool too
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Fantastic result
Hmm, I've got heaps of CF tent poles down in the shed from some old dome tents I don't use any more. Is that what this is made from?Neil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Thanks for the kind words. This material can be bought in sleeve form which this is. This is used to sleeve and protect wire harnesses and thnigs of this nature. People use it for alot of different uses though. This material is what I guess you can call a hybrid of carbon fiber which is just black in color.
The phot does not do it justice in that it has a 3D effect when looking at it in the light. Pretty cool stuff.
