Clickable Bullet Pen in Rimu
I recently ordered some clickable Bullet Pens from Timberly. Having done a few Bolt Action Bullet pens I wanted something a little different. Twist style bullet pens dont do a lot for me, they just seem a little ordinary.
After spending some time in the shop today in 30 + degrees ( which is pretty hot for NZ ) I put together a couple of these pens. The are a finicky pen to construct and I'm not sure as to whether I will do too many of them as the time to produce one is more than I had anticipated, however as the saying goes "practice makes perfect", so hopefully I will get the time down a bit.
They are a nice looking pen though. I will be doing some Sierra click pens as well as some Slimline Pro Gel pens as well as some folks like the twist but a good many others have said they prefer the clickable pens.
Heres a couple of shots I did that I will include on my Website as well. Gold 30 cal click Bullet Pen done in NZ Rimu with CA finish.

A great looking piece of under turned timber.

Thanks Les. Yep its good wood to turn, the dust is nasty stuff though, dust masks are a must.
BTW just for interest my son is currently staying with friends at Indian Head just out of Regina, and I was considering getting him to send me some kits.

penblanks.ca would be my recommendation for a source. They have a very good web site and a good variety. And I have no involvement with the firm apart from buying from time to time.
