    Default Custom Pen Boxes-Opinions needed

I had some custom boxes made by some able and experienced woodworkers, need your opinion on them, the large box is beautiful, but i was unable to capture the beauty of the pens in it, in presence it gives scope, especially for a Limited Edition pen, the big box is great for Emperors the small boxes have juniors of various types in them, but can fit an Emperor, the smaller boxes are custom fit for my laser engraver, any bigger they will not fit, which is a great pity, because I think that just 3 or 4 cm wider would allow a perfect match for a full size Emperor. Now it is up to your comments and suggestions. Amos

    They look very nice Amos,

Finish looks great, style looks great. I am partial to the red velvet instead of the white. I think it does take away from the pens a bit when they are in it but it is still worth it in my opinion. I also like to have a strip of material over the pens to hold them in place to keep them there when the box is moved.

For box's of that quality you would have to do them justice and only use very high end pens i.e. emperors.

You could do some real intricate engraving on them as well. It will be interesting to see what you come up with.

    They are great looking boxes.

I have to agree that the white background sort of takes the glamor away from the pens. The smaller red box looks good with the black velvet, too bad your engraver isn't a tiny bit larger.

Very nice! Amazing finish on the first two boxes. I like the way the linings were done as well. I know how difficult that can be. Are these boxes intended for display only, or will they be sold with the pens?

Al, I intend selling them with the Limited Edition pens, of course if someone wants one with a high end pen can always do it. Amos

I like the small boxes although a little longer would look less cramped.
Prefer the black lining to the white.
The large boxes look too big for the purpose, almost as if they were originally for something else.
They would need about 4 pens in them to look right.
I quite like the simple red box. Looks expensive but probably isn't?

Amos, I like all the boxes as boxes, beautiful work.

Having said that, I feel that as pen boxes most of them have some shortcomings.

First of all the big ones, I feel that they make the pen(s) look subservient to the box, it is the box that is the story rather than the pen. The white material reinforces this.

The smaller boxes, especially the red one, are much better as a pen box, but as said before, the overall effect is of the pen being cramped.

I honestly feel that these boxes do not add to your pens, they detract from them and that in no way is meant as a criticism of the boxes as boxes.

Amos Firstly can i say that the quality of the boxes and pens is second to none. I love the glass finish of the larger box. The smaller box looks better for single and double pens. The green pens are amazing puts anything i can do to shame.
