Default Best deal on Rollerball refills?

    Hi folks,

The first rollerball pen I've used myself (a Dayacom Executive) seems to be running out of ink already (say 2 months daily usage at work) which i thought was a bit quick, unless it's not running out, just blocked. It was supplied with a schmidt refill. I'm not sure if all Schmidt refills are the same.

Anyway, I know Australian Woodcraft has 10 Schmidt refills for $28 (+pp). Is this the best offer anyone has come across?

    Thanks. Russell.

Oh, dopey me. Should have checked teher first. Their prices have changed since I looked last. Australian Woodcraft was cheapest when I looked a few months ago. But I wonder, are they all the same quality, or not?

The ones referred to by Keith are both plastic case Hauser brand refills.

    Mine are metal case Schmidt.

Hauser don't appear to have the greatest reputation, but whether or not the bagging the've got on IAP is deserved is questionable. A few guys over there use them for mixing epoxy glue, and replace them in pens with the Schmidt.

Just curious how you know the ones I sell are Hauser, when were you in my shop last time? because the ones I sell are schmidt ceramic roller.

My apologies. The CWS ones are identified as Hauser, but the GPW ones weren't identifed as either one or the other, and I assumed wrongly.

Russell, If its for your own use, it wouldn't matter whether the casing is plastic or metal. Whether one is better than the other in terms of longevity, I don't know.

I don't even bother replacing the Hauser ones in the pens I sell. Although when I got a couple of people coming back with Hauser's that had not lasted anything like a reasonable amount of time, I started providing an extra refill with each pen I sell. The nice metal (Schmidt) refill sitting alongside the pen in its box looks the part, and is always well received by the customer.
