    Default Desk set

Found these bits in my to do box I don't pretend to be a woodworker so I just sanded a block of cypress pine and slightly chamfered the corners , a coat of BLO rubbed in and buffed , 3 holes drilled and countersunk to attach fittings and all done The fittings are gold plated brass the closed end pen is a cheapie I bought, as these trumpets take slimmer pens than I usually produce . Cheers ~ John

G'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

    Nice John.

Where did you get the fittings? The business card holders wouldn't be too hard to make but the trumpet would need to be bought, I think.

I like the cypress base. Always liked that wood

I got the trumpets on "special" at carbatec over a year ago hehe, but I am sure our local suppliers stock them . And if and when my gold plating kit arrives ,and I can use it hehe, maybe a solid brass slim will be the go lol. cheers ~ John

For a non woodworker you sure kicked that Cyprus in all the right places it is smooth, everything else goes the same way until as has been said we come to the pen.

That set up is deserving of a real good home.

Worth showing deserves high praise indeed. Well done. Regards Peter.

Hehe! I knew I would cop some flack over the wooden pen lol. to be honest for $2-50 for a closed end wooden pen with a cross refill and a better mechanism than your run of the mill slim kits its not bad, Its actually 180 mm long and smooth with a satin finish. Not for sale of course, but If I had made it I would not be ashamed of it hehe. cheers ~ John

Very nice John. At that price for the pen you might have to get another break it down and use the parts to make your own. I like it (except for the pen of course)
