Hi Ben, I cast this blank as an experiment to try and achieve what was asked for on a commission that I have been doing. It didn't quite come out as I had envisaged, so I didn't use it for the commissioned pen, but thought I would make a pen out of it anyway, someone will be sure to like it, it has sold already so someone did like it enough to take it home.
My tips on photography would leave you still wanting, but I will point you to an excellent series of articles that Sylvanite wrote on the IAP, if you read them all it will help you to understand things a bit better than I can communicate them.
This is the latest instalment ( if you read down to post #10 there are links to all the other articles in his series ) http://www.penturners.org/forum/f24/...sition-125808/
I will add that getting the lighting just right is very important, I haven't got mine just right yet, I am still working on it. Though I have improved it greatly from when I started.Brad.
