Nice pen Peter. Interesting how the Rutaceae family all have a distinct wood with distinct growth rings. Nice!

Some more re the wood: The wood also sometimes has a nice green heartwood with what I call a balsam-like smell. Some called it GREENHEART. The green heartwood is caused by a fungus I have found. This is likely the dryland species (the one you show, Geijera parviflora). There is another Wilga growing in more watered areas of Qld called "Scrub Wilga" (also with a small green heartwood)

Fantastic and stylish design, and a lovely grain in this pen. Knowing how shaky my hands are, I give you full credit for the intricate work and cannot believe your profile which shows you as an OBE (over bloody eighty). Great work, Peter

Top of the class with another beauty Peter.
I haven’t heard of this timber before, so thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Nice interesting grain patterns. Glad the wood doesn't smell like the flowers
