Hi again just wrote an essay to you it dissapeared so short version. First test weight wet it is heavy dry much lighter, wet is clammy to touch and cold, dry same temperature as a dry known blank, if in doubt chuck it stacked up in the roof I cut Olive just a whisker larger from wringing wet anyway. Also I cut for grain so matching is isolated to colur then ie light or dark etc. The warmth of the cut blanks test is down to my SWMBO who closely applied the touch feel aspect and pronounced, cause in my advanced age my hands are always too cold to be sensitive as I have to soak them in hot water for a bit.

On the IAP there are some beaut sources for cut blanks in several countries for Olive Wood, different characteristics colour , grain location, soils etc.

But here you are hot to trot have fun I do and always err on extra drying 1/2 blanks long cut double blanks can move drying. The final thing I do is set aside a marked group and weigh them bi weekly after two consecutive same weights they normall are ready to go.

Couple of pics of my found, cut one Spanish one Bethlehem?

    Kind regards Peter.
