Ground Zero
Apologies if you've seen these before.
These two pens are my interpretation of the new World Trade Center 1 & 2 buildings in Manhattan, New York. The base is supposed to represent the area of lower Manhattan and the two squares with golden ( brass ) inserts represent the footprints of the original two buildings.
I made the first pen at the beginning of the year but my wife and I visited the site on our 25th anniversary in April and I made the second pen after we came back. I very recently made the base as I thought the pens needed finishing off.
I like them and hope you guys do too...

This looks really good Skiprat. The pens look a bit bulky but I'm guessing you did not make them for comfort.
I like it, well doneCheers Rum Pig

These pens are some of the finest work you have done to date. They are never tiring to look at. The fit and finish are one aspect of this creative work but it is the details and the thought that makes them stand out. The symbolism that they represent is second to none. Well done sir and thanks for showing. I know people around the world will always remember that tragic event.

Hi Steven
In 1985 I wandered all over the old buildings, love your take on the new one. Our youngest daughter was in Washington DC at this time was used to visiting the Pentagon each day as PA for the Australian Defence Guy, she rang our early morning and said the world will not be the same ever again, how right she was.
I have not seen the plans for the new bldg however simply loved your take on it before and after your anniversary visit.
Congratulations on both counts. Great to see you around once more.
Kind regards Peter.Nil Desperandum
