    Ok ok ok.....
    I feel guilty as I don't tend to post a lot if my work on here, but with all the talk that apparently we are no more, I feel obligated to say 'im about'

    These are from the last year - I have started playing around with watch gears and clear resins in the past few months, but still love the coloured resins with the natural wonder of burl.

    A lot of the amazing timbers I use have come from Euge and Mapleman from this forum so if you're looking for some amazing stuff to work with, talk to them (though Mapleman has been a bit quiet for a while on the selling front)

    Happy to answer questions or take criticism, but after chasing around 2 boys (1 and 3 years old) time is limited....
    Most of these were made between 5am and 530am before work in 10 min intervals.....yup, it's an addiction

    Some really nice pens there Gab with a lot of effort gone into making them. I have all the gear for casting but struggle to get motivated to use it nowadays as pens don't seem to be very popular now like they used to be. I think because so many kits are so readily available and many people have got into making them in the past that the market is saturated.
    I need to get back into making some as my collection is slowly dwindling. My efforts during the last 12 months has been aimed at boxmaking which brings with it a whole new set of rules, techniques and attention to detail, but keeps the brain and motor skills active.
    I admire your dedication by getting up and working on pens before work.

    Dallas, I believe the market is probably saturated as well. This is the reason I'm getting more and more into resin work. It provides a bit more artistic licence (not to take away from natural beauty of timber) and not as many people seem to do it, so hopefully a point of difference. I don't tend to sell many pens, and most seem to find their way to owners by way of gifts or I am involved in quite a number of pen swaps on other social media. It gives me something to think about whilst I'm at work!! (God forbid I just work )

    I use epoxy these days - I tried with pr as I know it will give a better result for clear casting, but given I only tend to use timber as well, the shrinkage of the pr has given me grief in the past. Currently I use Barnes Clariti, but I'm looking into megapoxy hx for the future (but easier on the hip pocket)

    Thanks for that, yeah epoxy is the way to go for hybrids, as you say the PR shrinks too much.

    I was fortunate to see some of those pens in the real at the last Box Hill Gtg.

    * yrs later the request for another child I suggested tongue in cheek she hit her head on a brick wall. It worked and yes child no 6. We total 76 now Wilma and me with or 6 children ,over 50 GC AND GGChilkdren and dropped off and included.Never a dull moment at ours,only one daughter lives not far from us,can you imagine the broadsheet needed for birthdays etc. Latest GGChild last week in W Australia.

    My Parents currently have 14 GC with one more on the way. As for me I've got 3 kids under 5, the eldest is having his first day at school today.
