Default Huon Pristina FP & RB

I have to thank Fletty for the Huon blanks which I used to make these Pristina. A fountain pen and Roller ball obviously colour wise not a matched pair.

I used Minwax Gloss brush on polly on both approx 8 coats with sanding between coats the 4hr dry time even in bitter cold weather is a pleasant change from Minwax wipe on polly often days to dry.

Nice work mate. I love Huon. It is a buttery rich timber and nice to work with. I might try the brush on Min Wax when I have a few dollars spare. Do you get streaks from the brush? Also, why do you sand between coats?

    Thanks Greg.

Greg the 250ml tin is about $9 not to exy and unless it goes off its going to last while on pen use alone.

Sanding between coats is adhesion Greg gives grip to the next coat also in this weather 8C in the shed I am finding little bubbles, now I am not sure if this is caused by the temp. brush and its a very fine one, the Polly or the timber as it didn't happen so much on the Huon. On the Wenge one its been ARPIA. I sand using 1200 wet. Brushing along the length and hand turning the mandrel.
