First lathe project
Morning All,
Well after buying my second hand lathe several months ago, I finally turned up my first practical project, a slimline pen. Happy with the turning just need some work on the finishing.
Ordered various sandpaper grits and micro mesh as well as 3 different densitys of CA glue.

Welcome to the addiction.....
The CA technique will take a few stuck fingers (I recommend gloves) and time to get great results, but certainly worth the time to learn!"All the gear and no idea"

Looks like you have done well for your first pen. The wood appears to blend in nicely with the fittings which is not easy for beginners to achieve.
I hope you have got a good outlet for them as once you start you want to make more and more.Dallas

Evening Everyone,
Thank you for your kind comments and advice. Fortunately I have enough brothers, sisters, grown up children and some school aged grandkids to keep my pen turning satisfied for some time. Bought some funky acrylic blanks and Serra pen kit to have a go at once I have made some more wooden slim lines.
Cheers, Mac

Cheers, Mac
