Mik,
Do a search on google or ebay for Doming Blocks, some of the larger sets have all the different radius to work with and would be very suited for this kind of stuff
Cheers
Tony.

damn... i now have to work tomorrow so i might get a chance to try casting late afternoon, depends on SWMBO
thanks John but you know i like to live by the seat of my pants and make it up as i go, i did break a lot of gears though so we might have to Yab
Thaks Tony i have looked at these in the past but it seems like a lot to fork out if they don't take off, i do have a nice piece of very hard red gum which i was thinking would do a great job with the shaft of a bolt for the bashing bit

Hey Mik ! I use pliers with anvils to form some of the shapes , but a drill press makes a good controlled force as well,
