    Default Lucky Dragon Weddings Pens.

G'day blokes, been a while but I've been looking. Will get some better pics when the batteries in the decent camera charge up, I hope.
Wedding pens as a gift to family. Jr Gents in red & green apple(I think) woodnworkshop. Chinese dragon and names and date on cnc.
Still got some fine tuning to do on the cnc, .
Thanks for looking, don't be too cruel

looks pretty good to me mate

not sure if its possible but maybe a smaller tool bit to cut finer lines or not as deep a cut, that's all i would suggest

great job mate, this has heaps of potential

    all the best

Thanks MIK, that's what I meant about fine tuning the cnc. I've ordered some new cutters and a dial guage to get it accurate. Dealing in tenths of a mm I need to be more accurate that a ruler. But I'll get there.

remember mate - Its only a mistake if you don't learn from it

did you make or buy the CNC???

i am guessing it also has the 4th axis, you know we really need some pickies of the setup as well

one of these is also on my MUST HAVE!!!!! list, unfortunately there is a lot of other stuff also on that list which i think i need first, but then again

keep experimenting mate, it does pay off in the end - garanteed

I bought one a couple of years ago mate and it was a bit ordinary, and I met up with Greolt from the CNC forum here and he came out and set the machine up for me and showed me a lot (that I forgot as soon as he'd left). But his advice was to get a better spindle than the dremel that was on it. A month or so later I come across a narrow bodied Ozito machine for $20 new. But I've got a mate who's a retired engineer (and probably better woodworker than me) who comes around for a few beers and I asked him to see if he could replace the dremel with the ozito.
He said yeah and some time later, we place no pressure on each other, he basically rebuilt the whole thing. After he'd done that and we were drinking to his success (on a sunday) I mentioned that a rotary axis would be nice and that I had a spare motor. I told him what I wanted he took a few basic measurements and returned on the thursday and we wired up and installed the 4th axis. We did some very rudimentary calibration of axes and that is what I'm working with now.

My mate is very interested in making a better machine and probably at a reasonable price. PM me MIK if you are interested.
