    Default Mangrove Cedar Cigar

Turned a piece of this lovely timber and put it on a chrome Cigar.
It has a high gloss CA finish, first 3 photos are using my diffused LED lights....

This one is taken outside my shed in the shade using the ambient late afternoon light, it shows the finish a lot better ....

I formed a liking for this timber a long time ago. It was referred to me as Monkey Nut timber because of the crazy break up of the nuts produced by the tree. It has a neat sheen all of its own. Pic 2 looks like a great missile using the angle this way.

Thanks for this beaut Cigar Pen Brad.

    Kind regards Peter.

A nice piece of wood with just enough variation in the colours of the grain to make it appealing. I did a couple of Sierras last weekend using Tiger Myrtle and in the slab it looked really nice with the colour variations, but once turned into a smaller piece it lost it's appeal as there wasn't enough wood to show the differences in colour.
I like the last photo taken under natural light as it shows the sheen of the CA.

Beautiful as usual mate. Can't say I'm familiar with the timber, the heartwood looks a bit like Padauk, but obviously different.

I've given up with my light tent due to the dulling and these days use the background outside so I can see the shine. The biggest issue is then the shadows. Mind you phone doesn't even come close to your shots anyway
