Default Mini lathe Woodfast vs Pops shed

Hi all, I'm wanting to buy a mini lathe for pen turning. What's your thoughts on these two models below?

I read somewhere about standardized fitting sizes and bits for lathes, is there anything i need to check?

Electronic Variable Speed 10x18" - Lathe 370w With Speed Digital Screen - Woodturning Tools and Timber, Woodturner Accessories, Woodcarver Supplies, Woodturning Equipment

CWS Store - Woodfast M305 Midi Lathe

    Thanks for your help.

I haven't seen the Pop's Shed lathe, only the Woodfast so can't compare against each other except on specs.
The Woodfast is strongly built and the fit of parts seem quite good. You don't get the variable speed for this price, but get slightly larger swing and motor power.
It has the fairly standard now 30 x 3.5mm spindle thread so picking up secondhand chucks in the future might be easier without having to buy another insert for them.
The Woodfast is a good buy, but as I said I haven't seen or used the other one.

I am a proud owner of the one from Pop's shed. Had it for about 3 years and, admittedly as a secondary lathe, I have never had any problems with it. The variable speed is much better then changing belts every time.

I have just got my paws on the economy mini lathe from Carbatec - can't fault it.

I have been using the woodfast M305, purchased from CWS a few years
ago, and it has never let me down. Still using the original belt. It is one
    of the yellow colours.
