Model T
Another acquisition, genuine Model T spokes. Timber is Shagbark Hickory. The spokes are a tear drop shape and were apparently made this way to allow strength and flexibility for being able to take corners at speed. This was over 10 kph and up to 50 kph20190415_222213_1555332257474.jpeg20190415_222108_1555332332521.jpeg20190415_222148_1555332202073.jpeg

Fascinating bdar, thanks for sharing and explaining to me, even as a wood enthusiast and admirer (but not a turner).
Its seems that items which have special historical links (like yours), or have links to a more distant past (like prehistoric and ancient) or remote place eg from distant or banned places results in the rare, colourful and beautiful woods finding their way to turners and artisans to work into pens etc. (
The interest, appeal for working it and sale (and value) of such finished items then becomes apparent. Your wood "tells a story" and that's its biggest appeal. Thanks!
