NGR worthless wood my a__e
There just aint no such thing as worthless wood now that casting is in my head.
This is an Executive Click from Timberbits dressed in a "worthless" piece of New Guinea Rosewood Burl from TGCreations and gold pearlex PR.
How worthless is it? you tell me

Hey Ian I never go over 40 psi, that is sufficient for any casting. One thing that I have learnt (dont ask how) is that when making my moulds I make them with thick walls so the pressure doesn't distort the walls and about 5mm deeper than the finished blank size required so as to allow for enough resin to be forced into any voids. Also don't wait to long after adding the catalyst to the resin as if it sets to fast it wont go into the voids. I've added some pics tonshow what I mean.

Nice looking pens Trev and great looking moulds too. I still haven't used my pressure pot. The smaller moulds don't seem to need it and my bigger mould I put on the scroll saw and shake about as Neil showed us the say we went down. Must use it soon or sell the damn thing.

Ian they will be fine but as Neil & Greg said dont go above 20 psi.
The silicon that Greg suggested is selleys product speed seal & would be perfect for repairing the nipples, the other thing I would suggest is using an electronic jewelery cleaner to heat up your resin prior to mixing (aldi has them at the moment for $29.95) I use one all the time and it definately reduces the bubbles.

The Instructables web site had a nice article on modifying a Harbour Freight pressure pot for doing castings. I'm fairly sure there is very little difference between the Harbour Freight model and the one sold at Supercheap Auto so it might be useful to read.
There are some links for mold making in that one, too.
