Thread: Olive root roman harvest

Certainly a striking looking pen. You could be right, maybe too much of a good thing making it too busy, I am a bit undecided without actually seeing the pen.
Maybe that blank would have been better on a plainer kit, such as the Statesman.

But when it comes down to it, if the customer likes it, then all is good.

I agree. I think this blank would have suited a plain two-part kit like the Statesman, or even more plain like a Baron.
But the customer was very particular about the size of the writing point end. Baron was too small. SN Gent was too large. My only other option was the Harvest, and she actually liked all the bling.

She hasn't seen the final result yet, so will have to wait and see.

this is a doozie and my pick of the litter

fantastic character, the hardware in my opinion really suits the character of the wood, great job on the lot though mate

A striking pen Simon!! I think you have just managed to escape the "overdone"look!!

It is very easy for the busy kits to become overwhelming with really busy blanks. It takes good judgement and
sometimes luck to make the right choice.

Of all the pens you posted this was the one that stood out the best. The kit matches the blank very well. I can not for the life of me see how you say this kit has too much bling when you made those Knights of Armour kits. Talk about gaudy. I am not a fan of any of PSI new kits. They are way too limited as to the material you can put on them. This pen will definetly be well recieved and I would be very happy to own a pen like that. You have been busy. Thanks for showing.

Hi JT thanks for the message. I think you may have confused my pens with someone else. I've never made any knights' armour or any PSI pen kits. I agree with you - I think the Knights pens are very over the top. Thanks for your comments about this pen. I hope the client likes it.

Yes you are so right. I did mix you up with someone else. I saw that you had posted a whole bunch of pens in a row and did not see that someone else posted the Knights pens. My mistake. I am sorry. Still to me the pen looks great. I am sure it will go over well. Again my apology.

Glad you like the pen. I personally like the more minimal kit styles (my general favourite is the very plain Baron) to let the timber do the talking. I really hope she likes it though.

I am finding that I like Olive because it is so busy, naturally. I have a few smaller pieces of Olive that I am waiting for them to dry.
