    Default One for Me

I was given an unknown burl from a club member after much stabilising with CA it was drilled and I decided its mine . The burl is very soft almost like Paper Bark.

Thanks to Allan from Wallen for the Osage Orange

    Pat for the QLD Walnut

All are Flat Top Sierra's from 043Turning

Lovely looking burl and that Osage Orange is beautiful. I have some in the shed that is a very dark maroon on the ends but when you cut it, it's like looking at the sun...

How long does it take for the colour to fade? I guess it depends on exposure to UV, etc.

I love the shape on those Sierra's too.

Nice work Ray. The burl looks terrific. Osage Orange is a beautiful timber to work with and comes up a treat. Qld Maple is hard to capture how nice it really is in a picture, it's just one of those timbers that looks so much better in the flesh. Well done all round Ray.
    Reality is no background music.

    Ray,

Agree with you the Walnut has flair the others variety.

The stumpy is what kind of instrument kit from where.?

Both you Ray and Sue enjoy the festive season.

Kind regards from Peter and Wilma.

The stumpy is a Workshop Pencil normally from 043Turning but this I had to get through Dorno as could not raise 043Turning at the time.

If that happens Christos would you like my Nova Lathe as using a big lathe like that for just turning pens well it would be a waste.

    Nicely done Ray!

Burl always looks great and the Osage Orange can
be spectacular before any colour changes.
