Osage Orange From Wallan
With gratitude to Alan from Wallan, this piece came from just outside Wallan I am told. The kit is an All Cross Platinum slimline from Addictive Pens; The wood turned beautifully, finished by sealing twice with Shellawax Glow, then one coat of CA, rub back a little, then EEE, then 2 more coats of Shellawax Glow; Just could not capture the beauty of the colour of this Osage Orange as well as I would like, in presence it looks really delicious Amos

I've found with the lighter or brighter woods that plain shelawax is better.
It doesn't shift the colour as much.
I seem to think that CA also doesn't have the sparkle I would like at times.

People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

G'day Amos,
Very interesting wood. I have yet to use any of that......yet. I was really surprised at how well the platinum kit looks with that.....very nice.
Cheers,
Rick

G'day Amos,
Great result on the Osage Orange.
Typical of what to expect from such a colourful
wood which is excellent to work with.
Cheers,
Allan from Wallan
