Finished this one today, its one of Bruces blanks ( woodnworkshop ) called Pearl Coal, on a Black Titanium Cigar.

Very very nice. I haven't used a cigar kit but it seems that the ring at the top of the bottom barrel is too thin where it meets the top barrel. Is there a reason for that design?

Regarding the ring, I would have to agree, it is probably the worst aspect of this kit. A bit of a redesign could improve it a lot.

I have come to really like cigar kits, and that blank is awesome on it. I agree about that ring, and I usually try to do as you have done - round the top of the bottom half over a little so that it matches the roundness of the ring. Nice looking pen

Thanks.
Yeah that shape is what looks right to my eye, a sharp corner on the end of the blank doesnt look right with the rounded metal ring.
I have thought about customising the pen to get away from it, but it will add more time to make the pen.
