Looks great Les. So what's this shelf liner stuff? It's a bit hard to see in the pictures. How do you carry it around, do you have to take all the pens out and pack them back into their plastic bags?

You should be able to find Shelf Liner in a place like Wal Mart.

To transport I place a sheet of 1" foam cut to size on top of the pens and close the lid to hold to pens from moving around.

    Ah I see.

haven't seen anything like that as shelf liner, but I have seen a coarser versor as an underlay for door mats to stop them slipping around, and of course the original Router Mat.

Very smart! That's using your head. It's a nice looking case. Did you do the casework yourself?

Russell, I have bought a few rolls of this at The Reject Shop, it is much thinner than the stuff you are talking about, only $2 a roll.
Use it as drawer liners in my lathe tool cabinet.

Great looking display cases Les, any chance of some measurements?

Great display case Les, that should stop any discounting unless they go for the big prize.

That liner is what we used to use a sea to stop thing moving in heavy seas, works a treat and can be washed available in many places.

Really like this idea but would like to introduce some order by keeping the pens in place. Would like to use some sort of spring clip but they are too hard on the pens, any ideas on other ways of keeping the pens in place?

Great looking display box and I'm sure it will meet your needs I love the drawer idea

Although I am sure the foam and backing will keep the pens in place if the box is carried horizontally, I like to carry mine vertically like a briefcase, so some sort of elastic strapping would be required.
