Pen and pencil for the boss
A little while ago some bugga posted a couple of pens on facebook
(these ones)
Anyway the boss saw them and said "I'd have a pen in that colour. That's a colour I like!"
This is after repeatedly saying she wouldn't have one of my pens as she'd be afraid to lose it.
So I contacted Tony (AuS MaDDoG) through the forum (as the boss looks at my facebook and I sometimes need to keep secrets)
Tony cast some blanks for me and sent them down.
I thought I'd do a pen and pencil set for a wedding anniversary present. (We'll see if she likes them on Sunday )
I told Tony I'd put piccies up so here they are:

I decided to stay away from the sierras and thought cigars a bit bulky
hmm these look a bit pinker than Tony's pens
PS: the blanks turned well and Tony, thanks for making them specially for me, hopefully I'll get heaps of brownie pointsregards

nice work Nick BUT my concerns are not with the work you have done because they look great my concerns lay with the type of kit that you have used and it mainly because of the pencil. In my opinion and my opinion only I think the slimline pencil are a terrible kit to use because of the mechanism and also the thickness of the lead being way to thin and very easy to break again and again. As far as your work is concerned it looks great I just think it's worth looking into for next time.
Well Done
Cheers Ian

I would have used a Click power pen and pencil, nice size about streamline size, but takes a parker refill for the biro and uses 2 mm leads in the pencil (with a sharpener in the cap) If you do a look through on my posts or a search you will find a truestone set I did for my neices 21st
Nice work on the ones you did do though cheers ~ John

great set mate
i am sure she will love it
i have done a few of these in pencils and never had a problem, i do agree that the 0.5mm lead is very fine but some people like/need the finer leads
the one i have had probs with in the pencils mechanisms is the cigar pencil
all the best
