Pen turning question
Gidday Guys, I have a weird question to ask you here Is it safe to continue turning pens if you have found out you are pregnant?? Don't ask me how it managed. Hubby had a vasectomy and all. Is it safe to turn when pregnant??

G'day Toni,
Well congrats to you and hubby. My missus is a midwife and she also worked in a clinic where they do the snip on men and she sees no reason why you cant keep turning pens just make sure you use a good quality mask when you are turning as for the nick your hubby had she tells me that with some of the procedures they use it is possible for them not to work after a while, they should have tested him 3 times after he had it to make sure he was shooting blanks before they declare it a success.

Toni,
Cant see any problem, as long as your dust collection is up to its job. Might be the perfect excuse to purchase one of the Triton dust masks or the like
PS. did you see my pen pox thread?? thought of you when I posted itI may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I remember Aussie rep woman ball players playing netball into their pregnancy,wish you a happy,safe,comfortable turning time perhaps stick to pens not giant chunks of timber.With five majors in the subject I expect you will know what to do already. Peter.

I'd saying doing the laundry probably has a higher risk attached.
But it's probably a good idea to give CA finishes a miss for a while... they can be nasty at the best of times and there's no sense in taking risks. AFAIK, Shellawax and EEE are safe enough, I believe they're food-safe but I don't know that I want to put it to the test by eating any...

Congratulations! I would definitely read up on the types of wood that you are going to use as some can cause reactions. If it were my wife, I would be seriously insisting on a quality dust mask. In this case, better safe than sorry.

Hey Toni, probably quite safe providing the shed is air conditioned (hint hint) ... maybe NOW you could push for that to be done to you you both/all safe ... (no pun intended on the push bit )
