Default First Pens in Two Years

I haven't turned a pen for 2 years but I put my hand up to demonstrate pen turning at the DIY Woodworking Show in Launceston later this week on the Woodcraft Guild Tasmania's stand at the show. So anyhow I thought I'd better have a practice at the weekend.

These ones are all Dayacom Elegant Beauty's.

From the left, euc burl, tiger myrtle, blackwood, acrylic, blackheart sassafras, leather wood, myrtle and huon pine.

and also a circuit board Sierra.

Don't you love it when the grain jumps out on some of the figured pens.

Now, all I need to do is practice my photography as the photos don't really do the pens justice.

For all those in Tasmania, don't forget the DIY Woodworking Show Tasmania on at Launceston's Silverdome, Friday 19th - Sunday 21st November 10am-5pm. I hope to see you all there.

Proved it is like riding a bike you did not forget anything, selected blanks are all winners and winners are grinners, have fun at the show and enjoy.

    Love Tassie timbers.

    Regards Peter.

Thanks Gents, wasn't sure if I could remember, but as you say like riding a bike.

Just had to find the lathe under two years accumulation of junk in the shed. It hadn't been used at all in that time.

Yep, Still know how to use a lathe and chisel!
    All very nicely done.
Fit and finish look great with nice choice of plating to complement the various timbers.

Well done, you haven't lost your touch. Great pens.
