QLD Walnut Box Set
Been cracking in the workshop again.
This is a QLD Walnut box set. I got the slab of Walnut from Mal at Boutique Timbers over a year ago. I ripped it up and air dried it for over a year.
Here is the result.
QLD Walnut box with African Wenge Handle.
The pens are burl Brown Mallee Pristina Rollerball and Fountain Pen.
Sanded to 600grit, 20 thin coats of CA. Micromesh all the way then hit it with Brasso, corn flour paste and Automotive wax.
This is the first time I am working with QLD Walnut, all I can say is I don't like the doggie poo smell when your working the timber.
Hope you like it as much as me.
As always, comment or suggestions are always appreciated.

Excellent job David but I do have a question, how did you manage to get the box cut up with one hand holding your nose?
Cheers, Ian"The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.. it can't be done.
If you deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run.
And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for something better"

Nice tight joints on the box, and the handle is perfect!
Did you finish the box with anything? Poly? or whatever? Does it still have an odor?
The pens....what can ya say, they are definitely up to your typical turning standards-AWESOME!
