Default reverse painting differences

Here are 4 pens that were basically made from the same pen blank. It is from a home cast pour where I can pour 6 blanks at a time with same set of colors mixed. Here is the dramatic difference that can be seen by reverse painting different colors. 1 was done in black, 1 in Navy Blue, 1 in Grey, and 1 in light blue. Comments and critiques are always welcome and thanks for looking.

I use delta ceramacoat paint. the first picture the top is a light blue paint. the 2nd from the top is black paint. 3rd from the top is grey paint. and the bottom is Navy Blue paint.

I did not paint the tubes, just the inside of the blank.

That is the added benefit when using acrylics you can expand the choices just by changing painting schemes. The more translucent an acrylic is the more need to paint the insides or else the glue and brass tubes show. Nice work. Thanks for showing. Now lets see you mix things up abit and add a solid color with some of those fancy colors. Think outside the box.

I know anyone can do a mix of colors. I do plan on mixing a really dark green blank in the next few days. Taking emerald and darkening it with some black and maybe another yet to be determined color. I know the look I a after now I gotta get it.

Default the blank that the pens came from

here is the last blank in the lot. to see where these started. The blank is what I called suspended animation. Where clear resin is poured in the tube first. then you add your colors after that(no swirling when I pour these)

The darker colored reverse painting is definitely the way to go with these.

Just not sure I understand the pouring your describing though...
If you are putting the 'plain' PR in the mold and then adding the other color after, without swirling them....how does it 'swirl'? Or are you pulling a 'bent wire' back through it, and calling it good to go?

I like it when the wife uses transulcent colors in her pours....means I get to experiment! WOOHOO!!

Pour 1/3 clear resin on mold . I pour other colors at same time on top of the clear. It basically swirls itself. You can always stop 1/2 through your colors and swap hands with those to get a little swirl. Try it with a couple of blanks and show us something amazing
