Hi Pariss, I got my brass sheet from a hobby shop here in Mackay. they sell it in packets of different thicknesses, cost me about $10 for enough to do about 50 pens. They also sell styrene sheet in packets as well.

There used to be a hobby shop in Cairns called "Beehive", if they are still around, try them. Otherwise try to find somewhere that sells brass shim, eg Blackwoods, EA Bakers etc.

Pretty much anywhere that does model/s making or radio controlled airplanes / boats / cars, model rail also, etc. i got a few sheets of brass and a couple of alluminium, quite enough to do a lot of pens for about the 10 bucks each a sheet. about 6" x 4" ,15 x 10cm. hobby one in brisbane. up at mt gravatt. I've yet to play with it (looking forward to it however, as i'm into segmenting for bigger turnings). I also grabbed a bit of 25 x 25 x 3mm allum angle from work to use as a clamping base/guide.

Neal.
