Serendipity Gidgee Bullet Pen
Hi all
From an accident this one was created.
No this is not an optical illusion or a photo shop .. Real deal. This pen was going to be a keeper .. Until I pushed too hard on my drill press and pushed the guts out of the tip of the pen and it bent as shown. Then I tried to extract the barrel which absolutely was never coming out. Then I cried .. Well not in real life but inside .... Then I had an idea .. What if I put a bend in the refill and what if the mechanism still worked .. You guessed right all still worked ... 😀😀😀

You could still pull it apart. That is one problem with drill presses, they have a lot of power, so you need to ensure all the parts are in line and true.

I use a bearing press for this reason I use a go no go guage in the form of a turned holder that I use for roughing up the brass if its tight on that the brasses go in the bin. Giving away a pen recently demoing how to change the refill on a pen made years ago it would not come apart. Red face.
Felt sorry for your bent pen mate now you have a conversation piece.
