That's good to know. I have just purchased a lathe and want to pen turning. I have been hunting around for reputable suppliers I can drive to and came across Addictive.
I spoke to them on the phone and found them very nice, so maybe there will be many dozen kits bought through them....
cheers,

I must have missed Sue up there, Ray. I was there around 12:30 and picked up a few bits 'n pieces. The service was good.
A friend showed me how to turn pens on Saturday. I knocked up a slimline, and tried out a CA finish on a piece of timber. I am totally blown away by the finish that superglue leaves! Nearly a poor man's french polish.

I just went for a drive at lunch to Addictive and grabbed a nice little starter kit of mandrels, etc, together with some slimlines for practice.
Very happy with the advice and help for a new turner. Definitely a repeat customer here

WOW.......... Thanks guys for all your kind words about our service it is a pleasure to give you the best service I can, by the way Mrs Brett's name is Kathy and for a midwife she is doing pretty good in the pen kit game.
I wanted to show you some pics of the timber I picked up while in Brisbane at the Vicmarc open day that we were invited to put a small stand in. I have turned up some samples pieces for the website so here they are, I also picked up some of the nicest Hairy Oak I have ever seen also some Yellow Berry bush, Woddywood, Conkaberry, and Burdiken Plum but I am yet to cut those up.

Brett has the best service out of nearly any store I have ever dealt with. That is why he is the only ones I get pen stuff through now. It would be nice if everyone took some tips from him.
I bought stuff from another company a while ago and had problems with a kit straight out of the bag. it took three months for the problem to get sorted out . And it wasn't like that was the only thing I bought. That order was around $300 and they didn't have the time of day for me to sort out a $10 kit..... Maybe I had to spend $500 or $1000 to get good service.
If that was Brett (I have bought a truckload of stuff through Brett and have never had a single problem with any of the parts at all, they are that good) I know he would post out replacements that day if it was a problem with the kit.
his kits are about the same price as the others but about ten times the quality. They are originals and not a bodgy knock off. Why would you buy anywhere else.
Thanks Brett. Will be putting another order though soon.
