Default Silver Lotus Fountain Pen from Red Mallee

Silver Lotus Fountain Pen, from CSUSA, the wood is Red Mallee Burl, the finish is CA. First one of this type, has its own ornamental feautures which may appeal to some and not to others, but they are quality fittings and up past the Emperor in price range. I enjoyed making something different, have some blanks ready to make its mate(a rollerball Lotus), but that will have to wait, waiting for your input, Amos

    That sure is pretty

How many coats on that one Amos? Looks to be a lot of depth to the finish there
    Cheers

    Amos,
I must say, I have not met a mallee I didn'tlike. That is beautiful. I find the Lotus kit quite interesting with the double banding in the middle. Looking forward to seeing the rollerball, and the two pens together.

Another beauty, Amos. All your pens turn out so nice. That mallee burl really has some depth to it. How did you go about filling the inclusion?

I've never seen that kit before. I am a fan of it, though. More expensive than an Emperor? How does the weight compare to an Emperor or a Majestic? Is it as nicely balanced as those are?

I rather like the Lotus. I'd really like to find one that has a southwest/Aztec/Mayan/Navajo type theme to it.

    Nice work.
    Wood. Such a wonderful substance.

More fancy that anything I would carry, but I can certainly appreciate the work that went
    into it.

    Great work on the void!

Oh boy Amos, you have pulled another one out of the hat. Have never seen a Lotus before, but it looks very smart, yes,I like it. That red Marlee would look good on anything.

    Great work Amos.

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Good looking pen Amos, great finish Great work on the void, that came up a treat.

I looked up the CSUSA site but they don't list a Silver Lotus, they only list Rhodium/Gold and Rhodium/Black Ti, do other people sell these?

I agree with NewLondon, bit too fancy (blingy?) for my taste, but it is a beautiful combination with the Red Mallee.

    Default Amos

You are having a ball with the Mallee waiting to see results from the Broad Leafed Brown. I felt a bad feeling when I saw the void impossible to see them on the outside.
You are the most prolific maker these days, I imagine conversations on the home front start with just going out to turn a pen, or what do you think of this one or the sound of broken glass as you dodge the domestic implements.
This kit is showy and the pen does suit it, it will find a beaut home in the pocket of an up market executive plumber or another tradie seems they are the Noevelle Riche these days, unlike when I was an Electrician.
Take care my friend enjoy the ride.

It appears to me that this one is only silver in color, not metal, I believe it's a Rhodium/Black ti.

On the first look I missed the void on the blank. Amos did the void turn out as you went along or what did you fill it with something. It is so hard to pick on the finished pen.
