Default Starting to Make a Few

I've decided to get back into it again.

Made a couple as farewell gifts.

The first one is a Longwood click pen from Gary Pye with Gold Trim. The Mallee Burl is also from Gary from his new range of timber blanks. The only trouble with the Longwood is that I had bore the blank out on the lathe as the Drill only has 80mm of drilling depth.

The second one is an Elegant Beauty in Rose Gold and Black Titanium twist pen. The timber is from a piece of Mulga given to me by husband of a friend of my wife's.

As I was short of time to buy a couple of Pen Presentation Boxes I decided to have a go at making a couple from some Blackwood left over from another project.

    Thanks Guys for the compliments.

Artme I just gave the boxes three coats of the diluted 50/50 Furniture Lacquer (that I used on the pens) with a small brush. It's interesting when you put it on it goes on all streaky with all the brush marks but as it dries it smooths out nice and flat.
