Streamline Sapwood
Gold Flat Top dressed in Caragana Sapwood.
The Sapwood is very solid and non porous, turns easily, sands beautifully and takes an easy beautifully finish.
Looks very similar to Yellow Pau Amarillo.
Finished with 6 coats of Minwax Clear Gloss Poly, polished with Hut Ultra Gloss and applied 2 coats of Brazilian Caranuba.
Looks like there won't be much waste in cutting Caragana into pen blanks.
Able to get Sapwood, Two Tone Sapwood and Heartwood and sold Heartwood.
As always comments and or suggestions appreciated.

Almost looks like ivory. Very classy looking.
When all is said and done, there is usually a whole lot more said than done.

Beautiful absolutely beautiful. I usually prefer the darker timbers for pens but that is something else.
Reality is no background music.

I am a fan of the darker timbers but the gold kit looks good with the lighter timber.

I've always considered sapwood on my darker woods to be - - well, waste. I'll have to rethink my ways. Thanks for sharing and opening up my eyes.

Les
Some sweet smooth pen there mate. But I think you could turn Balsa wood and it could look like Huon Pine. My mate who deals in Burl says in Australia in some states you cannot sell light burl and in others dark, I am sure there are trends and fashions but your pens are beacons of good taste and masterfull finish.
You know the song by the time I get to Phoenix etc well one more sleep here its Xmas so I wish you continued success, there are not enough words to express my feelings recently when you revealed your find of this timber in your country how folks reacted there but I can tell you here there are no sour grapes nothing but praise for your honesty and well meaning here Continue making masterpieces my friend.
