I love the hexagonal end to your pen there!! Is that done before or after the lathe work?

Is it done with a hand plane?
Or is that giving away all the trade secrets?

    Top job
    Cheers

Nice looking pen, but are you sure it is Myrtle. Looks like Huon Pine to me, but I have been wrong before (many times).

Hi Amos I corrected the computer jump an hour before see my post. Of course it is Huon you remember how I have loved this timber for so many years now and yes I bought a machine to do hexes from the US modified it 15 times still not happy with it made my own device hence the OH&S remark. Like being a Sparky I dont do Electrical work any more in workshops for others the ramifications are endless. How are you keeping? I completed Oncology 15th December results promising but recovery is exciting something related to need to know for me its need to go.

    Kind regards Peter.
