Thanks Oz !!!
Probably the wrong forum....but it's been a while, so be gentle..
My wife and I are currently sitting waiting to board our plane in Sydney to go back home to the UK
It was a two week break for us and also to celebrate our 30th anniversary...
Two weeks so far away is much too short, but I just wanted to say that visiting your wonderful country has been a fantastic experience and we will treasure our memories for many years.
We were very lucky to spend a day with Peter (PenPal) and his lovely wife Wilma, who took extra care of us and showed us the best sites in Canberra.
Thanks Peter, we had a great time, please give Wilma a big kiss for me..!!
Yesterday, we made a flying visit and met David Lim ( Timberbits of course) and he gave us the royal tour of his new and vastly extended premises. Very impressive indeed. We didn't keep David from his work long but it was great meeting him. A real nice guy...!!I
We traveled around NSW, ACT and Victoria.
This morning we did some bird watching on Bondi Beach...........
Thanks Oz, you should be proud of your amazing country and the kind and generous hospitality you show to your visitors.
All the best
Steven and Karen

Happy anniversary, yes 2 weeks is far too short to be spent in this wonderful country, and like David and Timberbits, many wonderful and friendly woodworking outlets to visit and explore. I have just recently packed my in-laws off back to the UK who had me grace my lounge for over 2 months as we sacrificed our bedroom for them, and they didn't see half of what you saw. But then again they were here to see their favourite woodie son-in-law..... or maybe it was their daughter and grand kids, I'm not sure. Although the FIL was scrounging around my shop to see what he could stuff in his luggage. Especially after his coolabah burl shave kit and 3piece carvers mallet were a hit. He only managed to nab a half finished end grain cutting board, so I was lucky, mind you, I didn't have too many nearly finished jobs for him to say " oh, I like that"
hopefully you got got to see some decent species in Bondi!! And hopefully it doesn't take you til your 60th to comeback again!!
