    Default Turnig Acrylic pen blanks

Hi to all pen turners, When turning acrylic blanks how do you stop the turnings from building up and getting in the way of turning. Doesn't seem to matter what speed you turn at or weather a spindle gouge or skew is used to shape the blank the turnings are always building up and getting in the way. I spend more time removing shavings than turning. Help please

I usually just flick them off with my hand while the lathe is spinning once the build up gets too annoying.
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Yep, that's the easiest way (once the blank is round, that is )

And if you have a midi lathe like I do which has the motor underneath the headstock just keep an eye on the ribbons so they don't get stuck in the fan
    cheers Ben
