You're certainly playing with some nice looking blanks there.... Even the second flat one looks like it fits at the ends better (obviously a fast learner )

I like what you have done with the 2nd and 3rd ones George.
As you know, my preference is for the 1mm bulge, but also nothing wrong with a straight barrel if you prefer it that way. I know there are some very good pen turners out there that strive for that absolutely straight barrel that perfectly matches the diameter of the components.
One of our very accomplished members called 'Bdar" ( Darren hasn't been around here for a while ) used to specialise in the perfectly straight barrels, he called them "pure" .
Its good to have differences in opinion, otherwise we would all be turning out pens that look the same as everyone else's .Brad.

Thanks for the comments. DSCF4998.jpgThe third looks much much better in my opinion. The third one is the same timber as the first, leopard tree. It was taken from the same piece, just the next section along. Just shows you the variation in just one piece of timber.
