Wedding set.
Hi,
Finally got some time in my shed. Have been on the road across this great country of ours. 8000 kms in 3 weeks providing federal government assistance to drought stricken farmers. To see the resilience and strength in these farmers has been humbling. Downside is not being home with the family and less shed time. I know the importance of really being home when I am home. Upside is I now have access to lots of timber.
I have made a couple of matching Baron kits. One in Blackwood courtesy of Mapleman. The other in acrylic for a wedding set courtesy of timberbits. The acrylic is a match for what the bride and bridesmaids are wearing. Bride wearing white and purple and the bridesmaids wearing purple and white. I reckon they look ok. It is the first time I have done acrylic in the baron kit so would appreciate any comments.
Thanks for looking.
Todd

Nice work on the pens Todd. The Wedding pens should be a hit.
Glad to hear you are helping out the farmers, I hear a lot of stories of hardship coming into where I work. I bet they appreciate what you are doing.Brad.

Our farmers do it tough. Great to see that they are getting assistance in the tough times.
Great pens Todd, I am sure the bride and groom will be happy with the pens.
Thanks for sharing.

Geat work there Todd on both sets of pens and they have come up very well. If I may offer one small peice of advice not Critisism it would be when doing Acrylc pens I think it is a great idea to paint the brass tubes before putting them in or you can paint the inside of the Acrylic tube after your have drilled them. That would stop any chance of being able to see te brass tubes through the Acrylic and at the same time it would work towards boosting the colour of the Acrylic.

Thanks Ian,
Do you have any tips on what sort of paint to use?

Hi Todd
I use nail polish, most chemists have a bin with a whole lot of colours, You might not get a perfect match but you will get close. I paint the tube.

Todd any sort of enamel will do and the nail polish works great on the inside of acrylic tubes but remember you may have to clean the hole / enlarge a bit more once you have put paint on the tubes or acrylic.
Cheers Ian
