i-Box Experiences / Tips / Tricks and Questions
Hi
With the first delivery of the new Incra i-Boxes in transit to their soon to be happy owners. I started this thread so i-Box users can share their experiences with other users and potential owners.
We will monitor the thread and add wherever possible.

Grahame

First video review
Hi all
Here's the first review that we've seen of the i-Box, worth watching.

I like that center key look. Correct me if I'm wrong but spiral bits on the router table will probably give one a cleaner cut?
Cheers

Don't like them on a Router Table
Hi
Spiral bits are ok for some applications but as a friend recently found out, on his RT, that if they aren't 100% tight in the collet they work loose and climb upwards, in his case through his finger.
The enclosed DVD shows some very simple ways of overcoming tear-out.

Grahame....I notice that if you go to the NewWoodworker.com web site (authors of the review you mention) they say that included in the iBox shipping box is the 'material sizing chart' besides the instruction booklet and DVD. In my carton i got from you there was no sizing chart included......is that an oversight and left out by mistake or we don't get it here in Aus??
Please advise?
Regards
Mike

MJ,
Did you purchase from Grahame or from Incra direct?

Thanks Grahame......looks like the one incra supply is large size paper format, probably laminated(?), which is better for my eyesight Compared to an A4 size that I can only print out!
Cheers

Metric Stock Sizing Reference
Hi all;
I prepare a sheet for both the Centre Keyed and Splined Box Joint sizing. I went a bit further size wise than what Incra did. Note: This is still a DRAFT as I didn't have time to check it as yet, so any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
It can be downloaded HERE
If the consensus is that this would be useful, we will have some printed A3 sizes (420mm x 297mm) and laminated.
We need your feedback.
Regards
Grahame

Got the chance to try out the iBox over the weekend......very nice indeed....as advertised. The quality and accuracy of the jig is superb.
Note make sure your mitre slot is parallel to the blade
Checked and mine was 5 thou out
Hadn't checked in ages so got the dial indicator out and got it back to 1 thou accuracy

Did you only use the table saw or also the router table?
If so, which method was easier or perhaps more accurate?Cheers
