Mitre Express
I got some good feedback on my last post so I thought I would ask about the mitre express. Does anything have any experience with this product and if so are they worth the money?
Cheers, Peter

Peter, I have owned one for about 18 months and love it. I made a super sled before I bought the Mitre express that had everything including dust collection, guards etc but it was too cumbersome and in a splurgy moment I bought the Incra. I use it for nearly every crosscut. Its accuracy is fantastic. Perfect 90 deg straight out of the box. It also can crosscut almost 60cm which is much more than I had with my super sled. The included hold down makes it safer to cut small pieces. I bought a spare panel that is used for dados and I also bought a longer fence. Is it worth the money? That depends on your energy levels and whether you have the surplus funds. Is it better than a standard home made sled? That depends on the sled but from a personal point of view I've found it safer, more accurate, much lighter, cuts wider and micro adjusting. The ability to cut accurate angles and extend the fence as well makes it very adaptable. It is pricey so it really is a personal choice.

Thanks for the valuable feedback. I have looked at making a sled but after seeing the mitre express I believe it would tick all the boxes for me and your reply has convinced me. Which mitre gauge have you fitted to it?
Regards Peter
