First project using Incra
G'day
thought I'd post my first effort using my incra mitre 1000SE after finally getting it working in my saw bench. To be truthful, I did have to tickle the joints with a hand plane to get them to fit exactly. I must need a bigger engineers square to get it all set up perfectly.
Anyhow, it turned out OK and is now nailed to my son's bedroom wall. I'll have to think of something else to try now. Made from a recycled mahogany beadhead. The dial was from Murray Clock Crafts in Canada.Cheers from NZ

The joints are spot on.... I think you have decided for me whether to buy one or not.

Well done, looks very good.
I bought the 1000SE at the Adelaide WWWS and haven't regretted spending the money.
It is very versatile and accurate, much more so than the standard mitre gauge that came with the saw.

You shouldn't need a square to initially set up any mitre gauge. Get a straight, parallel piece of stock, 150mm ++ wide and cross cut it, by simply flipping one piece over and holding the edges against the fence will show a gap between the 2 pieces, that gap (if there is one) is twice the amount that the mitre gauge has to be adjusted. Once calibrated the gauge will cut repeatedly accurate angles.
I hope that this helps?

Hi and thanks for all the replies.
I'll try the approach suggested by Woodworker and in Scooter's links. Sounds like a good idea. It would be nice to get it bang-on accurate. Still, even as it is, I'm pretty pleased as I'd never have been able to cut to anything like the precision with my old gauge.Cheers from NZ
