    Default scales on incra postioner

i have a ts-ls with the extended cut (52") and am wondering how you keep the scales from moving. The first set of scales with the magnetic strip stays put just fine but the 3 piece one for up to 52" is laways moving around .
    any help would be great
    thanks

Are you talking about the Lexan scales? Little plastic jobbies?

What about using a small clamp?

Or Pritt Sticky Stuff on one end to hold it in place.

Yes it is the plastic scales, I talked to Incra about it and they told me to fold over 1/8" to create a thicker scale.I also asked why the second scale on the 52" cut was also not magnetic and they said that they had to buy a whole lot of them to get a decent price. I guess the 52" is not as common. I think the idea of gluing it in place is a good idea, I am going use just a dab of crazy glue and glue them all together and put just a dab on the end to hold it in place. But just a dab because it has to move at some point to adjust for blade kerf changes

Are you saying that beyond the 81mm on the steel scale, it's just plastic?

If so, then think about rather using the Kreg tapes as they are metallic which might work out a bit better.

I've just checked this out on my TS-LS. The Kreg tape is 12mm wide so it will fit the main track without a problem. It's obviously thinner than the INCRA steel rule but the magnetic strip holds it down. The Kreg tape has an adhesive backing but the glue is easy to peel off.

Now if you're clever, read on.

The Kreg tape is 3.5m long. If you buy the right-to-left version this will work on your Positioner either using the full 1320-0mm scale or just the part after 81mm.

Then, you could use the 1321mm+beyond part to install on an INCRA track system for your miter saw. They don't make metric rules longer than 1320mm so this fits the bill just perfectly.

Hope I'm making sense and could be of some help.

I am not using metric but yes the scale beyond 32" is just plastic and is made up of 3 pieces and fits in a slot but not in the magnetic slot it fits in one of the other slots. You pretty well have to leave the magnetic scale as is. You use the magnetic scale for cuts up to 32" and then move the whole base and then use the plastic scales for cuts from over 32" TO 52". The plastic scale would be ok if it was one piece but 3 pieces. I would think that Incra with their reputation for prcesion would come up with a better system for cuts beyond 32".

    Default Fold, don't scrunch

I just fold 10mm of the end over and the springiness keeps them absolutely in place. There are 4 plus the magnetic on mine for various jobs (inc. a imperial one for when I feeling silly)

I keep one in there for the wooden hinge thingy too.

Also this is done on my 1000HD.
