Loved this one guys - if you're a purist or enjoy seeing someone with a passion for their craft you will too.

Howard does a 10 ten day training including use of tools and accommodation provided at his Moonan studio. Materials and the end resulting chair is yours to take home.

He sells his chairs for around the $1200 mark each

Here is one of his former students finishing off his project at the show

If you go for the course tell him you read about it on the forum

Default Been there - Did It!!

Just arrived home from 11 days at Moonan Brook with Howard and 2 other guys. We participated in Howard inaugural woven seat Ladderback Chair masterclass.
The other 2 guys have worked green wood before, having spent time with Howard previously (Alex even teaches Green Woodworking at his place in Tassie), but I was a Green Woodworking Virgin!!
Howard is a regular at our Artisans Expo in February, but I had not had the opportunity to spend quality time with him till now.
Let me say the location and are brilliant for this kind of traditional woodworking.
Day one we were greeted with Howards woodpile and told our chairs lay within, we just had to find them inside the logs!

Make the components, assemble then weave the seat

From firewood to finished chair in only 11 days!

    You just gotta do it!
