Books about trees and landscape
I don't know exactly where to post this one! Just been reading an interesting article on The Australian newspaper website, about authors and how they describe the Australian bush, particularly trees: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...-25132,00.html
It compares the offerings by overseas writers, after visiting here, with local writings. It comes to the conclusion of a developing appreciation of the unique character our bush has, not the grandeur and spectacle of trees overseas.
Has a good list of the books discussed, which includes fiction and non-fiction, (eg. Flannery, Winton, Pakenham) so if you're a bookworm like me, its a good article.
Cheers,Andy Mac

Nice link, thanks Andy.
Now to hassle the Caloundra and Maroochy Libraries!
The new government isn't going to do anything to improve mediocre local libraries is it?
