Shaker and other furniture
Lots and lots of nice furniture here, mainly shaker-inspired, but some federal style stuff too. I visited the showroom/workshop and said I was a hobby woodworker: straight away the proprietor offered me a job. In another life perhaps...
The stuff is very impressive seen "in the flesh". Superb quality, and with lots of hand-making going on.
The website is nicely designed too.

Here's an article at The New Yorker on Shaker history, beliefs and practices, and how they influenced their aesthetic. (I know SilentC is not reading this, so I can use words beginning with "aesth".) Interesting links to zen too.
