Access To Get Under The House.
Hi all, I hope that someone can help.
I need to add another entry point to gain access under the house (on stumps). Brick veneer cladding.
For some reason the height between the ground and the joists is decreasing, or my "gut"
is getting a little bigger .
Any way, I've looked at where it needs to go and there are no piers or stumps in the way.
I was thinking cutting of out the bricks with a demo saw and then etching out some of the mortar under the top row of bricks and then inserting a galvanised lintel. I would then insert a treated pine frame inside the bricks and fit a door.
Can anyone see any problems in doing this as to the structural integrity of the house etc.
Thanks in advance

Id just cut a trap in a corner of a room .
move a cupboard or cabinet , get a circular saw and find the joists.
you can see the nails where the boards are nailed into the joists.
cut just on the inside of them.
3-4 boards long.
easy.
