Adding lining boards over lining boards
I am renovating a timber cottage with old painted v jointed lining boards. The boards are sound, some cracking, but have loads of lead paint finish. I would like to just re-line over the old boards with new boards, with perhaps sarking between the 2 layers. I want to avoid having to remove the old boards because of the risks of lead paint being spread everywhere. There is elevated lead levels in one of my grandkids.
Is this feasible ? Any thoughts ?
